According to Philippe Clement, it might take a few days for Rangers to determine the severity of Oscar Cortes’ possible hamstring injury.

The gifted 20-year-old forward from Colombia has been playing well since joining the team on loan from RC Lens, and he once again looked impressive in the final 2-1 triumph over Killie.

But as Rangers supporters anxiously watched the young player clutch his hamstring halfway through the second half, Oscar Cortes was substituted in for Scott Wright.

When questioned about Oscar Cortes’s situation following the game, Philippe Clement stated that he would need a few days to provide an update on his injuries.

Philippe Clement on Oscar Cortes injury

During a press conference held after the game, the Rangers manager bemoaned the team’s continued injury issues.

Going into the summer and the upcoming season, Clement reaffirmed his commitment to fixing the team’s ongoing medical problems.

When asked how Oscar Cortes was feeling following the game, Clement responded, “No idea for the moment.” Since it’s still early, we’ll check in with him tomorrow or the day after to get a clear idea of how exhausted he was or if there was more.

“Hopefully not, as we already lack enough players. That’s something that has to be worked on in the upcoming months and definitely in the season preparation.

Kilmarnock win to come at cost?

With the matches approaching thick and fast, Oscar Cortes’ hamstring problems, which can always get difficult, will be something Rangers will want him to be ready for.

Rangers have been plagued by persistent injury issues this season; as of right now, the team is without Kieran Dowell, Alex Lowry, Todd Cantwell, Abdallah Sima, Rabbi Matondo, and Danilo.

Although Rangers’ 2-1 Scottish Premiership triumph over Kilmarnock made it ten straight wins, the attacking line for the team is increasingly vulnerable to injuries, and Philippe Clement obviously hopes the problem will go away.

As they aim to continue their assault on three more competitions, Rangers supporters will be crossing their fingers that Oscar Cortes won’t be sidelined for an extended period of time due to injury.
