All the most recent team news from the Premier League and Brighton & Hove Albion
Roberto De Zerbi, the head coach of Brighton & Hove Albion, has been plagued by injuries this season.
The Seagulls, who were eliminated from the FA Cup after losing 1-0 to Wolves on Wednesday, will play their first leg of the round of 16 Europa League match against Roma on Thursday before returning to Premier League action this Saturday against Fulham.
Brighton were missing nine players from the starting XI at Molineux Stadium last night with Kaoru Mitoma (back), Solly March (knee) Jack Hinshelwood (foot), Evan Ferguson (foot) Tariq Lamptey (thigh), James Milner (thigh), Joel Veltman (unspecified), Danny Welbeck (unspecified), Joao Pedro (thigh) and Billy Gilmour (suspended).
Although De Zerbi acknowledges that the match will come too soon for Milner and Pedro, the 19-goal Brazilian striker, he wants to have Lamtpey, Veltman, and Ferguson available for Fulham.
Following the defeat at Wolves, De Zerbi stated, “Milner, we will need another two to three weeks.” “Two to three weeks again, Joao Pedro.”
“I hope Tariq can be available for Saturday, Joel Veltman as well,” and also adeed: “Ferguson I hope can play Saturday.”
Despite dealing with multiple injuries this season, Brighton is currently ranked seventh in the league and is in contention for a top six slot, which would guarantee them a trip to Europe once more for the Italian head coach.
