Oscar Cortes, a winger for Rangers, gave an injury update from the hospital following his horrific performance against Kilmarnock.

Due to the injury sustained in the 2-1 victory at the end of February, the January arrival will now miss two months of action.

Philippe Clement substituted Cortes, who is on loan from Lens in France with a buyout option, in the 70th minute at Rugby Park. Shortly after, the manager hinted that surgery would be required [BBC Sport, 2 March].

Ibrox winger Cortes wrote on Instagram, “Everything was a success thanks to God, we will be back soon.”

Oscar Cortes’ injury causes a major loss for the Rangers.
Together with Mohamed Diomande and Fabio Silva, Cortes made the temporary move to Ibrox during the most recent transfer window, and all three of them made an instant impression there.

However, Clement will now have to make due without one of his most recent additions, as Cortes’ injury will undoubtedly keep him off the pitch for an extended amount of time.

For the winger, whose future is definitely in jeopardy given his present contract between Lens and Rangers, it will be extremely frustrating.

Fortunately, he remains upbeat despite the injury, although that will not be how Clement and many Gers fans are feeling.

Given that they still have the Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup, and Europa League to contend with, they could definitely do without the dynamic winger during this difficult time.

opening up is the European competition, where on Thursday, February 7, the Gers will go to Portugal to play Benfica in the opening leg of the round of 16.

In other Rangers news, following their performance in the Scottish Youth Cup, the team has a bright future ahead of them.
