As Wrexham looks to go up from League Two, manager Phil Parkinson claims he hasn’t given the club a point total for March.
Three points behind Mansfield, the leaders of the table, are the Dragons.
After going three games without a victory, Wrexham returned to winning ways on Saturday, defeating Accrington Stanley 4-0 at home.
“To the end of February within touching distance or in the top three which was always the aim,” said Parkinson.
“We were aware that the schedule required a lot of travel, but should I make goals for this month? No, we’re simply focused on the upcoming game.”
On Saturday, Wrexham will travel to play Morecambe, who are currently in eighth place and just outside of the play-off spots. Wrexham defeated Morecambe 6-0 at home in November, with a hat-trick from Paul Mullin.
Parkinson is not focusing too heavily on Wrexham’s poor road record in 2024, despite the fact that they have only won one game away from the Racecourse.
“Every game is of equal importance especially when you get to this stage of the season,” Parkinson stated.
“We want to build on our performance from the weekend and that’s what we’ll be discussing with the boys in training tomorrow before the game.
“We know what we’re up against and we’re just looking to build on our performances.”
Tom O’Connor, a dynamic player, returned to training this week, which was good news for Parkinson.
The 24-year-old missed ten games due to a foot fracture he received during the team’s 20 January loss to Newport.
“Tom is back in training for us this week, that is really great for us,” stated Parkinson.
“He’s trained well, and as the week has gone on, he looks better. We’ve just had to be patient with the healing process.”
“Tom’s a class player and he was outstanding for us before he got injured.”
