Joao Pedro will not be available for Brighton’s Premier League encounter against Nottingham Forest, according to manager Roberto De Zerbi.
On Sunday at 2 p.m., the two teams will play on the south coast, with Forest eager to get back from their most recent late loss to Liverpool. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team has suffered back-to-back losses, and the Reds are now four points above the relegation zone.
Conversely, Brighton has lost both of its most recent league games after drawing with Fulham and losing to Everton. They also lost to AS Roma 4-0 on Thursday in the Europa League.
The Seagulls’ in-form forward Pedro will not play before the game as he recovers from a hamstring injury. “He’s got an issue. We don’t want to take a chance, but we’re not sure how many weeks,” De Zerbi remarked.
In addition, James Milner and Jack Hinshelwood are doubtful, while Billy Gilmour will serve out the last game of a three-match suspension. Due to an ankle injury, Hinshelwood has missed the last four games, and Milner has missed Brighton’s last five games.
Long-term absentees Kaoru Mitoma and Solly March aren’t expected to return to action this season.
Regarding Forest, Nuno may be able to welcome back a few injured players, including as Nicolas Dominguez, who was ejected from the game against Liverpool the previous weekend. Ola Aina was also observed working out this week. Willy Boly, the centre back, and Chris Wood, the striker, have returned to the training field.
