Even though they played with great energy at Old Trafford, Everton’s horrific winless streak continued this past weekend.

The Toffees have never had an easy time against Manchester United, much less amid a run this dismal and with everything seemingly working against them.

Sean Dyche’s team regrets their lack of skill greatly despite having numerous opportunities this season in nearly every game they have played.

And it proved to be the same in the early kickoff on Saturday, with two penalties ultimately making the difference.

Ashley Young took to X to try and apologise to supporters following yet another dismal outcome that stretched their Premier League winless streak to 11 games.

Ashley Young’s remarks to Everton supporters
The former wide player for United, who came to Everton from Aston Villa in the summer on a free transfer, has generated some controversy at Goodison Park.

After all, Dyche began to like the 38-year-old quick, and he kept his position.

Before an injury ultimately forced him to step in, Nathan Patterson and Seamus Coleman had to wait in the wings for the seasoned player to keep failing the team.

Since he entered the game as a replacement once more over the weekend, his position as a bench player is now much more appropriate.

Coming home to the area where he had nine tremendously successful years, Young felt both regret for his new fan base and nostalgia.

As such, he wrote: ‘Not the result we wanted. Take the positives and we go again. Thanks for such a great reception.’

What is Ashley Young’s season-long performance for Everton?
There was a tacit resignation when Young was brought on, and although it was not the most exciting catch, it did represent good business for a team that everyone knew was struggling financially.

This was before to their final infraction and subsequent six-point deduction.

As a result, it made financial sense even though it didn’t really thrill supporters.

His refusal to stop playing the aged dud in spite of his subpar performances, however, ultimately caused them to lose the manager’s favour.

Young, who was used at full-back a lot this season, made just 19 league starts and turned into a real liability. It hasn’t been the smoothest of transitions, according to Sofascore, as there have been four yellow cards and a red card, a penalty, and two errors that directly resulted in goals.

And even though it has stabilised recently as a result of his expulsion from the squad, he is still an unreliable player.

He has an abundance of experience and a winning mindset, but at his age and quality level right now, all he can really be for Dyche is a bit-part player. In any case, we value his remarks.
