Kain Ryan, a youthful defender who left Brighton and Hove Albion last month, has joined COVENTRY City on a free transfer.
The 19-year-old center back, who will first play with City’s under-21 team, has inked a contract extension with the Sky Blues through June 2025.
Ryan moved from Derby County to Brighton in November 2021, and at the beginning of the 2023–2024 season, he was promoted to the Seagulls under-21 team.
Ryan declared, “I’m overjoyed.” For me, it’s a fresh start and a new chapter, and maybe I can go from here.
“All I want is to return to playing football, play as many minutes as I can, and reach my previous level of performance.
“I’m eager to get started; I’m excited about what lies ahead for me at this exciting time in my life.”
