Paul Robinson stated that Leeds United would have a case to make against the Premier League if they don’t advance this season in light of the financial scandal involving Leicester City.

Due to a suspected violation of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability regulations during their previous three seasons in the top division, the Foxes were charged and submitted to an independent commission.

However, as stated by Kaveh Solhekol on Sky Sports News (March 21), if they are found guilty, any points that are deducted would apply to them the next season if they are able to return to the Premier League.

The former Leeds goalkeeper believes that the Whites might benefit if they too make it to the top division, but he also argues that they will be disappointed if they fail to return and Leicester is not punished this season.

“There’s two ways of looking at it from a Leeds point of view as far as a points deduction goes,” he remarked in an interview with MOT Leeds News.

“If Leeds, as we hope, go up and Leicester start in the minuses that’s good for Leeds, whereas if for whatever reason Leeds didn’t go up this season and Leicester had the points taken off next season then there’s an argument why?

“And if the financial violations have been discovered this season, why haven’t they received the same punishment as Everton?”

Are Leeds United and the Premier League at odds with the news about Leicester City?
Leicester isn’t a Premier League team anymore, at least not for now, so any point deduction would have to wait. This is the tough part.

For the sake of argument, let’s assume Leeds and Leicester advance, and the Foxes lose points that will start the next season and might be very helpful for the Whites.

However, the Leeds hierarchy will undoubtedly become frustrated if they are unable to cross the boundary.

All of it is a bit disorganized and detracts from the real game, which ought to be the main topic of conversation.
