According to Barry Ferguson, Celtic should now be paying Kyogo Furuhashi “Kieran Tierney-type money.”

When he scored the game’s lone goal to assist Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic build a four-point advantage over their competitors, the Japan star defeated Rangers over the weekend at Ibrox.

In an interview with Go Radio, former Scotland midfielder Ferguson praised Kyogo Furuhashi as a “top-class” player and praised him for being the only player to display “a real bit of quality” during the game.

Because of that first-time finish by the 28-year-old, who surprised Jack Butland, he has now scored six goals against Rangers, which is why Andy Walker believes he has a “big mentality.”

Ange Postecoglou, the Treble-winning manager, and Kyogo were said to be leaving together in the summer, but the Bhoys did very well by signing him to a new, long-term contract.

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal paid £25 million for Kieran Tierney’s skills in 2019. Now, Ferguson believes Kyogo is comparable in value.

Both Henrik Larsson and Kyogo
“He is nowhere near Henrik Larsson,” declared Ferguson. But he is a top-tier athlete. His record for scoring goals speaks for itself.

“How much would he be now? I’m referring to the recent long-term contract he signed. I have no doubt that Celtic will have a Kieran Tierney-like financial profile.

“He is a game-changer; he contributes something truly exceptional to the game. Taking advantage of his opportunity while he is having a quiet game is a trait of a top center-forward.

Tierney is less valuable than Kyogo.
Kyogo, particularly as a goal scorer, would attract a price higher than £25 million in the inflated transfer market of today.

However, since the quick-witted forward just signed a new contract, there shouldn’t be any concern about him leaving soon.

And with Kyogo on top, those championships are sure to arrive faster than Rangers managers in the dugout at Ibrox.
