A fresh set of Newcastle United training images has been made public by the club.
The pictures, which were made public, depict Newcastle United players practicing before this Saturday’s game.
A little preview of who might and might not be available for this Saturday’s match between Newcastle United and West Ham.
The following 11 first team squad members, based on what we could see during Wednesday’s training, are included in the Newcastle United photos:
Miguel Almiron, Elliot Anderson, Paul Dummett, Mark Gillespie, Loris Karius, Jamaal Lascelles, Sean Longstaff, Jacob Murphy, Matt Ritchie, Sandro Tonali(***), Joe Willock
(***Sandro Tonali of course remains banned for the rest of this season)
The club including the following amongst the text to go with the images:
‘A handful of the Magpies’ first team squad were in action for their countries during the international fixture window over the last fortnight, including Alexander Isak, Bruno Guimarães and Fabian Schär, while Anthony Gordon’s fine form for the Magpies was rewarded with his first two caps for England’s senior side.
With some of those players travelling back from countries around Europe on Wednesday, senior players – including Joe Willock, Jacob Murphy and Elliot Anderson – worked alongside some younger charges from the club’s under-23 side in midweek, with Sean Longstaff, Jamaal Lascelles and Miguel Almirón also among the more familiar faces taking part.’
So we know that the following have all been away on international duty – Alexander Isak, Bruno Guimaraes, Fabian Schar, Anthony Gordon, Martin Dubravka, Emil Krafth, Lewis Miley, Lewis Hall. Of those eight, seven of them are hopefully going to be available for Saturday, with seemingly Lewis Miley set to be missing for a period of time due to a back problem, the media reporting this has developed whilst away with the England under 20s.
As for others who couldn’t be seen in the official Newcastle United training photos from today (Wednesday 27 March):
Nick Pope, Callum Wilson, Sven Botman and Joelinton are long-term injuries.
No sign though amongst the images of Dan Burn, Kieran Trippier, Matt Targett and Harvey Barnes
Always difficult to know for sure as players can be innocently missed out of the set of published photos and/or Eddie Howe wants to keep the opposition guessing…
