Leeds United leads the Championship going into the Easter weekend of play, but Daniel Farke has tried to allay hopes by giving Leicester City the benefit of the doubt.
Leeds United is neither the club to beat nor the favorite to go up in 2024, despite being unbeaten in 13 games, topping the standings, and having 17 more points than Leicester City. Daniel Farke believes that the Foxes’ upcoming match will put them back atop the Championship, providing Enzo Maresca’s team with “the best possible option.”
Farke had been asked if his team was now in the best position to win on May 4 coming into the football Easter weekend. The Whites had been on a roll since the beginning of the year and appeared to be unbeatable.
He responded, “No, because Leicester has a game coming up. I expect them to win the game in hand as well, and then they’ll have the best option.” “That’s just the reality and the facts.”
In addition to drawing attention to Leicester, Farke was eager to set aside the table and United’s previous performance completely before these two games over the course of four days. The German is concerned about the short amount of time he has with his team in a group setting on the training ground.
It appears that Farke’s primary goal for the future is to grind out these games and look for any method to win the points. In his pre-match press conference, Farke wanted to temper expectations by citing a number of injury doubts and a lack of preparation time.
“We play, more or less, the two games, six points to play for, the first game, Watford, without one training session with the team,” he added. “The games before are not important for this weekend.” After that, on Saturday, we’ll have recovery time. On Sunday, we’ll likely have our lone practice session before the Hull game.
We don’t need to talk about the table or who the hot form team is right now since it’s a complicated situation. It’s more along the lines of, “Now, all you need to focus on is figuring out how to be competitive for these two games.”
