The most recent rumors and information regarding transfers involving Brighton & Hove Albion and other Premier League teams

Roberto De Zerbi, the manager of Brighton, has been connected to five more teams as another week is almost over.

The Brighton manager is busy getting his players ready for Sunday’s match against Liverpool at Anfield. The manager’s contract with the Seagulls expires in June 2026.

Despite De Zerbi’s rumored £12 million release clause from Brighton, elite clubs in the Premier League and throughout Europe have not shied away from reaching out to the Italian.

Man United, Napoli, and Barcelona are all still being considered as contenders to succeed Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season, which is where Liverpool is still looking. Another rumor that has gained traction this week is Bayern Munich’s apparent rivalry with Liverpool for the services of former player and Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso. The rumor mill appears to be here to stay, but Paul Barber, the deputy chairman and CEO of Brighton, has said that his team will be ready to take De Zerbi’s place if and when the time comes.

Speaking just a few weeks after the Italian was appointed—he took over for Graham Potter in September 2022—Barber stated that they were already looking for De Zerbi’s replacement.

Speaking to Sky Sports in October 2022, Barber remarked, “It sounds strange, but almost as soon as new manager comes in, we are looking for the next one.”

“Football is such and such in its character. We worked hard to find the kind of manager we wanted to replace Graham since we did not anticipate losing him at the time that we did.

“We are examining the playing styles of European coaches. which resources they are utilizing and the outcomes they are obtaining from them.

“After that, we create a shortlist, and that list gains significant weight at a point not too long after Graham left us.”
