After acknowledging to having thrown a missile and having a flare or fireworks at an away game, he was given a three-year suspension.
A three-year Football Banning Order has been imposed on a 29-year-old Wrexham supporter for disorderly conduct at an away game.
On Tuesday, March 26, Adam Edwards, of New Hall Road, Ruabon, made an appearance at Milton Keynes Magistrates Court. According to a statement from North Wales Police, he entered a guilty plea to charges of hurling a missile onto a football field and possessing a flare or fireworks during a sporting event.
The offenses happened on Tuesday, February 20, during Wrexham’s League Two match against MK Dons. For the term of the order, Edwards will not be permitted to attend any football games in the United Kingdom.
Additionally, he will not be allowed to enter any town or city where Wrexham AFC or the Wales national team is playing an away game, nor will he be allowed to be within 2,500 meters of any controlled stadium on matchdays.
“Supporters attending games who are found to have thrown any objects from the stands will be arrested,” stated Dave Evans, the Dedicated Football Officer for the NWP. As was the case in this instance, it is illegal to possess fireworks or flares at sports facilities, and long-term prohibitions are also applicable.
“I would strongly advise everyone not to bring pyrotechnics to games, as the large number of spectators greatly increases the possibility of getting hurt. There’s a reason why fireworks, smoke grenades, and flares are prohibited at UK sporting events: they can be harmful and upsetting. They are also a major fire hazard.
“People who utilize these technologies put others and themselves at danger. The strongest penalties will be applied to anyone caught employing them at games.
