In the upcoming weeks and months, Newcastle United will have to make some important decisions regarding the future of numerous long-serving players.
Many of the players in Eddie Howe’s squad are nearing the end of their contracts at St. James Park, despite the fact that there has been a lot of discussion about potential new signings during the summer transfer window.
The defensive tandem of Emil Krafth and Jamaal Lascelles signed new one-year contracts to prolong their stay on Tyneside, meaning that two United stars have already earned themselves fresh contract extensions.
Swedish full-back Krafth said on the team website, following his signing, “I am delighted to extend my time here and commit to Newcastle United for another year.” Since I joined the club, my journey has been filled with ups and downs, but I feel at home here and want to return the kindness and care that have been extended to me, especially during my injury recuperation. The club is going through a tremendously exciting period, both on and off the field, and I’m thrilled to have the chance to continue contributing to that and possibly even further
However, there remains a number of other United stars with question marks over their own futures at the club.

2. Elliot Anderson – N/A
Signed a ‘long-term’ deal in September 2022.
3. Anthony Gordon – N/A
Newcastle didn’t disclose the length of Gordon’s contract when he signed from Everton just over 12 months ago.
4. Harrison Ashby – N/A
Similar to Gordon, the club didn’t reveal Ashby’s contract length. Currently on loan at Swansea City.
5. Lewis Hall – TBC
Will spend the 23-24 season on loan at Newcastle before joining permanently from Chelsea next summer.
6. Lewis Miley – 2028
The 17-year-old signed a new long-term contract in January 2024.
7. Bruno Guimaraes – 2028
The Brazilian recently signed a new five-year contract.
8. Tino Livramento – 2028
The England under-21s international joined from Southampton last summer.
