Wrexham is fighting to get promoted from League Two, therefore they might not have final transfer plans in mind until that fight is over.

Following their 2-0 victory over Mansfield Town at home last Friday, Wrexham appeared to be in a great position.

But Wrexham still has work to do after losing 1-0 at Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday.

Wrexham will automatically advance with four wins from the previous five games, but Milton Keynes Dons might benefit from a few mistakes.

Without a doubt, Phil Parkinson and company would prefer to finish the promotion process as soon as possible.

Wrexham are currently in limbo; if promotion is secured, some players who would be in the plans—current or potential—in League Two might not be in the plans.

Wrexham will have targets in mind for both scenarios but it may be difficult to really start work on new signings until the promotion fate is known.

Talent from Northern Ireland is linked to Wrexham
Nevertheless, one possible addition to Wrexham is being mentioned ahead of the summer transfer season.

According to TEAMtalk, Wrexham is hoping to sign Loughgall star Benji Magee this summer.

According to reports, Wrexham has “made checks” on Magee this season. This makes sense considering the similar rumors that have been circulating about another talented player in Northern Ireland.

Ronan Hale, a Cliftonville prospect, has also been considered by Wrexham, and Magee is reportedly being considered as well.

The 21-year-old is already a member of the Northern Ireland Under-21 team, and senior caps won’t be long behind.

Dean Smith, the manager of Loughgall, has praised Magee as a “maverick” and emphasized his quickness and direct running style in the closing third.

Wrexham may be able to develop Magee into a diverse offensive prospect, but a lot will rely on whether the team enters League One this summer.
