Elliot Lee, the star of Wrexham, had one request for co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney when the team won League Two by default.
The Red Dragons knew going into Saturday that a victory over Forest Green, the lowest team, would send them into third division football for the first time in 19 years, while a victory over MK Dons, the fourth-place team, would send Mansfield into third place.
Wrexham fulfilled their half of the agreement, taking a 3-0 lead at the Racecourse Ground in the first thirty-five minutes.
However, Mansfield trailed MK Dons for the first thirty minutes of their match until defender Elliott Hewitt’s equalizer gave Wrexham the lead for the time being.
And Nigel Clough’s team overcame all obstacles in the second half to secure a 4-1 victory, while Wrexham thoroughly destroyed their opponents, 6-0, leaving them facing National League football.
Luckily for the Wrexham supporters, the drama had subsided to almost nothing by halftime, and there were displays of fan excitement at the end.

Lee, a former West Ham academy product, has made 44 League Two appearances, scoring 16 goals and dishing out four assists, to play a major part in the promotion victory.
On New Year’s Day, he and star striker Paul Mullin inked new contracts with Wrexham that will keep them with the team through 2027.
The midfielder can now fully concentrate on helping the team back to League One, however he did have one request for Reynolds and McElhenney for the summer.
After the 6-0 victory, he made the following announcement to BBC Sport Wales: “I’m not sure if they’ve messaged anyone yet. After every game, Ryan usually sends us a message, so I’m sure he’ll message soon—actually, they both will, to be fair.
“We’ve just told them to fire up the jet for Vegas!”
Wrexham visited Vegas last year following their promotion from the National League, and it looks like another trip might follow…
