1,000 Oaks, California — On Wednesday, Boston Scott, an experienced running back, and the Los Angeles Rams reached a one-year contract agreement.
The majority of the previous six seasons were spent by Scott with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he caught 71 passes for 566 yards and another touchdown in addition to running for 1,295 yards and 16 touchdowns. Out of 75 games, he started 12.
With 10 of his 17 career touchdowns coming against the Eagles’ NFC East opponents, the 29-year-old Scott is most known for his many huge games against the New York Giants. In addition to receiving 222 yards and another touchdown, he has run for 422 yards and nine touchdowns.
The Rams, who have returned with Kyren Williams, the second-leading NFL rusher, as their primary ball-carrier, will pit Scott against him for a backup role. Last week, Los Angeles selected Blake Corum, a former Michigan standout, in the third round. He now joins Zach Evans and Ronnie Rivers, who were previously backup picks.
Dallas signed Royce Freeman, who finished the 2017 season as the Rams’ second-leading rusher with 319 yards.
