following the international break, Celtic will soon resume play, and everyone is still feeling good following last week’s derby victory.
A demanding training week will resume at Lennoxtown in preparation for Saturday’s match against Dundee at Celtic Park, followed by a trip to face Feyenoord.
Brendan Rodgers will undoubtedly make a few adjustments to his starting lineup in light of that matchup, the most recent injury information, and fresh recruits joining the squad. But what lies ahead, and who stands to lose out?
Celtic adjustments to defense
Even though Liam Scales and the Celtic defense held up admirably in the second half of their victory over Rangers, a move at center-back still seems imminent.
Nat Phillips was hired on a temporary loan basis specifically for this purpose, and although he was unable to travel to Ibrox, Rodgers has already stated that he has a chance to play right after the break. It would be nice to see the new Bhoy in, whether it’s Phillips and Scales or Phillips and Lagerbielke.
More lineup changes versus Dundee
More modifications might be made later. Due to an injury sustained while serving his country, Liel Abada is unlikely to play this weekend. That makes it possible for Luis Palma to enter the side or for Hyunjun Yang to start another.
Yang appears to be a more credible alternative at this time, but we’ll need to see if the former Aris FC winger starts for Honduras. Palma may be one of the newest players to return from international action.
With Matt O’Riley and Callum McGregor expected to start, the manager may well choose Odin Holm over David Turnbull in midfield. A home game against Dundee might be a great opportunity for Holm, who last weekend looked bright coming off the bench.
