In a polished speech after being nominated for the FIFA Best Coach of the Year award, Ange Postecoglou paid tribute to the entire Celtic family.

The Tottenham Hotspur manager has received recognition for his accomplishments while leading the Hoops last season, as his daring brand of football swept aside all opposition. Celtic was guided by the Australian-Greek to a record-breaking EIGHTH domestic Triple, defeating Rangers in the Viaplay Cup and the Scottish Cup along the way.

As a result, he is competing against managers Pep Guardiola of Manchester City and Xavi of Barcelona for the top prize, which is decided by the managers and captains of the national teams, as well as reputable journalists and supporters. And

“Yeah, for the FIFA nomination, I’m fairly humbled,” he told the media on Friday. But I’m just happy that it’s acknowledgement for a terrific team of individuals I worked with, including the staff, players, and Celtic supporters.

This is really wonderful acknowledgment for the club. It’s a terrific club, but occasionally people downplay its accomplishments because they think poorly of the league. But I believe that any time you achieve a treble—which we did last year in the best possible way, winning the league and defeating Rangers in both cups—it’s not by any means a simple feat.
