With Johannes Hoff Thorup, the manager of FC Nordsjaelland, taking over at Carrow Road, Norwich City will usher in a new era of management. David Wagner, who led the Canaries to the play-offs, was fired after a humiliating 4-0 loss to Leeds United. The 35-year-old Dane takes Wagner’s position.

After losing in the play-offs, Norwich is gearing up for a third season in the Championship and is optimistic that Thorup can bring his Danish success to English football.

“I’m thrilled, and I hope the supporters are too. It’s crucial that they feel proud of the squad, so I hope we can do something together. Thorup stated on the team’s website.

“I’m here to listen to some of the excellent work that has already been done, but I also have certain ideas and ideals about how we should play. It’s important for me to be quite clear that everyone must feel that this is something we do together.

During his second stint in the dugout, Thorup is credited with guiding Nordsjaelland to a fourth-place finish in 2022–2023.

Frank Lampard, the former manager of Chelsea and Derby County, is now the front-runner to replace Vincent Kompany at Burnley after the latter was named manager of Bayern Munich. After earning an incredible 101 points in 2022–2023 to go up from the Championship, Burnley fell back to the second division after winning only five of their 38 games.

With an instant return to the Premier League in mind, the Clarets have focused on Lampard, who is recognized for guiding Derby to the 2019 Championship play-off final before falling to Aston Villa.
