Here’s a pretty basic transfer rule: Whether a player performs well or not, it is highly rare that a Serie A club will exercise a buying option if one is loaned to them.
This also applies to La Liga, and numerous English teams have stumbled into it. They forget that the opposing side won’t honor the reasonable agreement they have negotiated for the benefit of all parties.
This relates to Victor Kristiansen, Bologna, and Leicester City.
The 21-year-old was a mainstay for the Serie A team, appearing in 34 games during the previous campaign. They think he may be useful in the future, they like him, and they want to keep him, but will they activate the €15 million provision they agreed upon with Leicester City? Naturally, the answer is no.
That clause did, in fact, expire on May 15.
Bologna has reportedly told the Foxes that they would like a deal to be agreed upon, but they are seeking a “strong discount” and would be willing to pay €11–12 million, according to Corriere dello Sport.
It’s reported that Kristiansen and his group are desperate for the player to remain with the Italian team.
For all intents and purposes, Leicester City must obtain that €15 million. After been promoted to the Premier League,they are in a stronger position, therefore there’s no reason why they should just give away discounts.
It could be more acceptable if Bologna offered €12 million plus €3 million in suitable bonus payments.
