A status update has been released about Daichi Kamada, who last week orally agreed to join the Eagles, by the dependable Fabrizio Romano.
The Japan international is rumored to have already cleared the first round of his medical checks at Crystal Palace, and after the evaluation is over, a two-year contract will be inked.

It comes as no surprise to hear that the Austrian “strongly” wants the Japanese maestro in south London.
Previously employed by Glasner at Eintracht Frankfurt, Kamada contributed significantly—scoring 25 goals in 93 games—to the German team’s 2022 UEFA Europa League victory.
At Selhurst Park, a first?
It appears like Kamada is on the verge of becoming the first Japanese player in Crystal Palace history, if the records and our memories are correct.
Before that, Shintaro Harada was a player for Crystal Palace Baltimore, a United States-based team that was connected to Crystal Palace, from 2007 to 2009.
There was also Tsuyoshi Yoshitake who played for Crystal Palace Baltimore in 2010.
However – as far as we know – there has never been a Japanese footballer to play for the Crystal Palace, so Freedman could be about to make history by bringing Kamada to Selhurst Park.
