Before the Eagles came calling for his signature, the Japanese international, who had worked alongside Palace manager Oliver Glasner while he was manager of Eintracht Frankfurt, was negotiating a contract extension with Lazio. After leaving Frankfurt for Lazio in the summer, Kamada has only played one season there and has only scored twice in Serie A.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano disclosed on X that Kamada will agree to a two-year contract at Selhurst Park. He wrote: “Today, Daichi Kamada signed a two-year contract to become a new player at Crystal Palace.” Also finished is the medical, so we can now confirm the free-agent signing. As of right now, the announcement from #CPFC is scheduled for the first week of July.
Newcastle United was said to have shown interest in Kamada before to his transfer to Italy, and they were supposedly given the opportunity to sign him for free.
