The Dallas Cowboys didn’t make much noise in the early parts of the offseason, outside of signing veterans Ezekiel Elliott and Eric Kendricks. However, the Cowboys have been active lately, signing a couple of players from the UFL this week.

Dallas signed St. Louis Battlehawks linebacker Willie Harvey Jr. and D.C. Defenders cornerback Gareon Conley to the 90-man roster. Harvey Jr. and Conley have NFL experience and are coming off great 2024 campaigns in the UFL.

The Cowboys haven’t been shy about adding spring football players over the last few seasons, and have their eye on another defensive player from the UFL.

Birmingham Stallions head coach Skip Holtz was on The Next Round Live Wednesday and said that defensive end Jonathan Garvin will work out for the Cowboys this week, per James Larsen and USFL Expert.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero confirmed the report from the Stallions head coach.

Garvin is another player with NFL experience as he spent three seasons with the Green Bay Packers. The 24-year-old defensive lineman was drafted in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft by Green Bay.

Garvin played in 38 career games with the Packers, recording 32 combined tackles, seven QB hits, two pass deflections, 1.5 sacks, and a tackle for loss. After being cut by the Packers last July, Garvin found himself in the UFL this season with the Birmingham Stallions.

The former Packers draft pick was part of a Stalliions’ defensive line that featured Carlos Davis, Taco Charlton, Dondrea Tillman, and Jordan Thompson. For his efforts, Garvin posted 19 total tackles, 3.5 sacks, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and a tackle for loss.

The young defensive lineman will hope to make a good impression on the Cowboys’ coaches and land a roster spot ahead of training camp next month.
