New manager Steve Cooper has issued a Leicester City transfer update.
The Foxes are preparing for life back in the Premier League, after winning the Championship title and promotion under former boss Enzo Maresca last season. Cooper only took charge at the King Power Stadium last Thursday, signing a three-year deal, but he has wasted no time in getting to work on the transfer front.
A new striker is likely to be high on Cooper’s wish list following the departure of Kelechi Iheanacho at the end of his contract this summer. He currently has Jamie Vardy, Patson Daka and Tom Cannon at his disposal in the striker department. Wilfred Ndidi’s future is also uncertain with the club confirming earlier this month that negotiations over a new contract were taking place with the midfielder.
Speaking about his squad and transfers in an interview with the club, Cooper said: “We’ve got a lot of talent, a lot of character, a lot of good attributes in the squad already. With the right additions that the club are working together in trying to bring in, we’ll give ourselves the best chance of reaching the objectives that we’ll set for next season.”
