Crystal Palace have been searching far and low for the perfect Michael Olise replacement and now they’re pushing for a £17m gem. For Crystal Palace, the past week or so will have been concentrated around one thing and that is discovering who is going to replace Michael Olise at the club.

As a result, a number of names have come up, indicating that Palace is definitely keeping an open mind in order to get Oliver Glasner the greatest addition possible.

Although interest in Antonio Nusa is believed to be significant, he has emerged as a clear front-runner. However, rumors from Europe indicate that the Eagles are now pursuing an alternative.

Dougie Freedman might thus give Glasner his very own Lionel Messi as a result.

Palace pressing for Marcus Edwards
Marcus Edwards, a winger for Sporting Lisbon who has been a name quietly in the background for Palace, is the possible Olise replacement that Palace is now trying for.

The Portuguese publication Record claims that Glasner, who desired the winger’s return when he was Eintracht Frankfurt’s manager, is the reason behind Palace’s interest.

But the source claims that Edwards isn’t all that interested in moving to Selhurst Park because he isn’t “enticed” by the move.

Although it’s unknown if Tottenham Hotspur would be interested, it’s believed that Edwards would love to play there again. However, they do have a 30% sell-on clause.

According to a March rumor, Sporting might sell Edwards for as little as £17 million, which is a complete steal in this market. Nevertheless, it is obvious that Palace needs to do more convincing to win him over.

It would be fantastic to have Marcus Edwards join Palace.
The signing of Edwards by Palace would be a thrilling development that would have Selhurst Park spectators cheering.

Earlier in his career, Edwards was compared to the one and only, and possibly greatest, player in history—Messi. Edwards is an amazing ball handler.

When managing Edwards at Spurs, Mauricio Pochettino said, “The qualities – it’s only looks, his body and the way that he plays – remember a little bit from the beginning of Messi.”

Despite this, for a 25-year-old, he had a very small impact on the game last season in Liga Portugal, with just four goals and four assists. Consequently, it would probably be preferable if Nusa arrived at the club this summer.
