Just days after signing Elliot Anderson, Nottingham Forest are now looking set to sign another player.

Forest moved quickly to sign the Newcastle talent and it would appear that plenty of other players will be added to the ranks before the season starts.

Nuno Espirito Santo does prefer to work with smaller squads and there will also likely be some outgoing business too.

With the window now in full swing, however, it looks as though Forest are set to get another player over the line to bolster the squad.

Nottingham Forest set to sign player from Corinthians

History is going to repeat itself this summer, with Forest returning to the club which they signed Murillo to land another new recruit.

This time it’s goalkeeper Carlos Miguel and this deal is now very close to completion, according to Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail.

The player has been linked with Forest for a long time and it looks as though Forest have finally got their man.

Miguel stands at 6ft 8in tall and should offer some brilliant competition for a place between the posts with Matz Sels.

The 25-year-old was recently tipped by a Brazilian journalist to be the Brazilian number one and thinks Corinthians are making a mistake by selling him.

Miguel has the potential to become City Ground favourite

Forest have had a bit of a stinker with goalkeepers since the club won promotion to the Premier League.

Dean Henderson did a great job during the first half of 2022/23, with Keylor Navas also doing okay when arriving on loan.

Last season proved a complete and utter disaster, however.

Matt Turner never looked like a capable number one, whilst Odysseas Vlahcodimos looked unconvincing when called upon too.

In fairness, Sels looked capable during the second half of last season but Forest are clearly looking for a number one who they can pin their hat on.

Miguel looks very much like a Brice Samba type of character and that could bode well.

In his final Corinthians appearance against Sao Paulo, he made an outrageous save that looked straight from the Samba textbook.

He also shoved a player over and got himself a caution which also isn’t too dissimilar to what the current France international got up to at Forest.

If Miguel has half the rapport with the Reds fan base as Samba did then Forest will be on to a winner between the posts.
