Tuttosport, who analyze Torino’s attempts to sign the defender, mentions Southampton’s interest in him.

Due to his refusal to sign a new contract, the left-back’s current one expires at the end of this year leading the Brazilian team to contemplate selling him.

According to the story, they want to make as much money as they can from his sale during the summer window and he has thoughts of relocating to Europe. Torino is eager to hire the 23-year-old after keeping an eye on him for some time.
His agents have informed São Paulo, the Serie A team, of their readiness to propose an offer of €3.5 million plus bonuses. For Torino’s director, Davide Vagnati, having to pay the agent a large commission is a “sore point.”
Within the following two days, Torino could increase their proposal to €4.5m [combined], based on São Paulo’s request and the agent commission, bringing the total cost to €6-7m.

Southampton, Real Betis, Girona and Granada are also in the picture. It’s claimed these clubs have contacted Welington’s agent, but haven’t taken further steps to sign him.

This allows Torino to get ahead of other interested parties in the transfer race. Therefore, the Saints have to act quickly if they wish to bring Welington to England this summer.
