Wrexham are still actively looking at bringing in players this summer and could yet return to the free-agent market.

This summer the Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have been keen to strengthen the Wrexham squad.

The Red Dragons have already made two good additions with Arthur Okonkwo and George Dobson arriving in North Wales on a free transfer.

Phil Parkinson has also boosted his defensive backline by snapping up Leicester City defender Lewis Brunt.

If the club return to the free-agent market there is a great opportunity to strengthen the attacking options at the Racecourse.

The North Wales club have been linked with forward targets with Millwall striker Tom Bradshaw a potential target.

However, there is a good opportunity on the market for another Championship star.

Tyrese Campbell is now a free agent after leaving Stoke City at the end of last season and could provide to be an impressive alternative.

Wrexham should target £0 forward Tyrese Campbell

The level of quality in League One is expected to be higher which might leave the Wrexham boss looking to upgrade his striking options.

Campbell could be a strong solution with the striker having a wealth of Championship experience.

The 24-year-old has played 146 games for Championship side Stoke City and would add extra quality at the Racecourse.

The former Manchester City academy star also has experience in League One with a loan spell at local rivals Shrewsbury Town where he scored five goals in 15 appearances.

After eight years at Stoke, the forward is looking for a new club to regain his goal-scoring form, with Wrexham’s ambitions it could be a perfect match.

The forward is a strong physical presence being six-foot tall, but he is also very quick and able to dribble past players.

Campbell would also offer versatility with the ability to play out wide if required.

With the former Championship star available on a free transfer it could be a good opportunity for the club to consider.

Tyrese Campbell fits Wrexham transfer strategy this summer

Campbell’s experience of playing at a higher level would be an upgrade on some of the options in the striking department.

Wrexham sensation Paul Mullin, Ollie Palmer, and veteran Steven Fletcher are all expected to be heavily involved next season, leaving Sam Dalby and Jack Marriott fighting for a place.

The former Stoke striker has played the majority of his career in the Championship and could improve his goal-tally if he joined the Red Dragons.

With the towering striker available on a free transfer he fits the strategy that Wrexham have been doing in this summer window with the free transfers of Okonkwo and Dobson.

If the former Bradford City coach does look to strengthen his attack then he must consider Campbell with the potential he can grow and progress with the squad in the coming season
