Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has insisted Che Adams would be a “top signing” for Nottingham Forest this summer.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed the Scotland international would add between 10-15 goals to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

Football Insider revealed on 16 June Forest are trying to lure Adams to the City Ground as they look to strengthen their attacking options.

The 28-year-old has now left Southampton after his contract expired on 30 June, meaning he is free to join a new club immediately.

Adams enjoyed an impressive campaign with Russell Martin’s side after scoring 17 goals and laying on six assists in 46 appearances, helping them secure promotion back to the Premier League.

Che Adams would fit into Nottingham Forest system

Wyness believes the forward would fit into Nuno’s system due to his work off the ball and his eye for goal.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Adams has proven himself to be a good journeyman Premier League forward.

“I think he will get them between 10-15 goals on a really good season.

“I think Nuno will find the value of Adams up front.

“He’s the busy sort of worker that Nuno would like, so I think he fits into the system.

“He could be a top signing because he knows the Premier League and what’s expected.

“I think that could work out pretty well for Forest.”
