Harrison Burrows is very close to joining Sheffield United, therefore Leeds United will have to hunt elsewhere for a left-back.

Journalist Mark McAdam of Sky Sports stated on X that Burrows was going through a medical examination with the Blades prior to finalizing his £3 million move from Peterborough United to Bramall Lane.

The 22-year-old Burrows, whose contract expires next year, has allegedly been informed that he would be sold this week, with Bramall Lane being the likely destination.

However, Leeds will play the Blades to make sure he leaves for Elland Road, and “official” communication has already been established.

Daniel Farke, the captain of Peterborough United, is being courted by Leeds United. He has strengthened the defense at right-back by bringing in Jayden Bogle from Bramall Lane. If he then moves for Burrows at left-back, Chris Wilder would suffer yet another setback.

After moving to Barcelona, Junior Firpo had two challenging years before having his greatest season at the team this past season.

However, he is well-known for his injury problems, and Farke didn’t really use him until he returned from yet another extended layoff.

According to reports [Daily Mail, July 1], the club plans to sell Firpo this summer. Sam Byram, meantime, was a reliable backup but has his own health issues.

After scoring 12 goals and providing 18 assists in his final season, Burrows would be moving up from League One, but if the two present alternatives stay, he might create a group that finally answers a long-standing failure to adequately address the left-back position.

In an interview with talkSPORT earlier on July 23, Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony seemed to imply that the Whites were in for the defender and that he would know for sure if they had been. However, the Yorkshire Evening Post has since reported that Elland Road has not accepted a bid.

Burrows is not the only Premier League player Leeds is attempting to steal, as the team has also entered the race for Blackburn’s Sammie Szmodics, an Ipswich target.
