Adam Idah’s Instagram page gives the impression that he plays for Celtic, and while Brendan Rodgers and the green-and-white supporters will hope that’s the case at the end of the transfer window, Idah hasn’t exactly been shy about putting out subtle clues about where he wants to play football. The Hoops and Norwich City are still in negotiations to bring the Old Firm Scottish Cup-winning goal hero back to Parkhead on a permanent basis. Football Scotland exclusively revealed at the beginning of the month that the Scottish champions had a £4 million bid turned down by the Canaries, who are unwilling to part with their native talent.

The EFL Championship team’s position was further cemented by the recently appointed Johannes Hoff Thorup manager, who insisted that Idah was a “important” component of his plans for the upcoming campaign. The Republic of Ireland striker, though, is reportedly eager to get back to Glasgow following an incredible six-month loan period.

The 23-year-old has also made little secret of this on Instagram, where he still sports a Celtic jersey in his profile photo and makes no mention of Norwich in his bio. And the frontman’s reaction to the Hoops’ convincing 4-1 victory against Chelsea in the US Friday night has people talking.

Idah was fast to react, sending a smiling face with hearts emoji, to a photograph of Celts’ official Instagram page that included the final tally and a photo of goal scorer Mikey Johnston. Idah may have been supporting his friend Johnston even though he was on loan at West Brom during Idah’s time in Glasgow. The two are international teammates.

But before the new season even began, the striker was inundated with messages from eager Celtic supporters pleading for him to sign up. “Mon up the road big man!” was written by one. One more person said, “Big Man, get it signed.” A third laughed, saying, “Don’t do this to me, Adam.”
