Rangers have accepted an offer to add a renowned veteran, and they are looking to bolster their roster in order to provide Philippe Clement a team that can surpass last season’s performance.

News about Rangers transfers
Following their heartbreaking defeat to Old Firm rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup last season, there is a lot going on at Ibrox. The majority of the transfer activity has been completed thus far. Sam Lammers’ most recent exit was to FC Twente, where he left after a successful loan spell with fellow Dutch team Utrecht.

In an attempt to force a move away, Todd Cantwell has also submitted a transfer request, and Connor Goldson is nearing final agreement to join the Cypriot team Aris.

When asked about possible new signings, the Rangers manager said he anticipated new faces when the Scottish Premiership resumed, but he would not speculate as to who those players may be.

One of those duly arrived in the shape of Vaclav Cerny, who has moved to Ibrox on loan for the 2024/25 campaign and has brought plenty of excitement with him despite a tough season in Germany.

“It is a very nice day for me. I am happy to be here and I can’t wait to get started”, he told the Rangers media team.

“Obviously from the first talks with the manager, it gave me a very good feeling and from there on I would say it went pretty fast. I was happy about the contact and just couldn’t wait to come down here and be here and experience it all.”

Meanwhile, there are also reports that Rangers have tabled an offer for Atletico Nacional defender Edier Ocampo, who is considered one of the brightest talents in Colombia. Now, they have agreed a deal for a player at the other end of his playing career.

Joan Jordan deal reached by Rangers The Daily Record has reported that Rangers have reached an agreement to sign Sevilla’s seasoned midfielder Joan Jordan.

The 30-year-old Spanish midfielder, who has made 198 appearances for Sevilla, has the potential to be a valuable asset to the Ibrox engine room due to his extensive experience. He was a member of the Sevilla team that won the Europa League twice, the most recent time being in 2022–2023, when his team triumphed over Roma in the championship game.

It also says that negotiations to sign him to a contract with the Rangers are moving forward. They repeat reports that the Spanish team, under pressure to let go of players in order to adhere to financial fair play, has decided that “a loan for the season with a €5 million option to buy next summer has been deemed acceptable.”

They are currently awaiting Jordan’s clearance, and Rangers will probably have to pay his £58,000 weekly salary.

With Jordan and Cerny both arguably in their primes and maybe set to contribute to Clement’s impending title run, it’s undeniably a different caliber of signing than what the Ibrox crowd have been accustomed to in recent seasons.
