It was reported by Football Insider on July 23 that Szmodics is eager to join Ipswich and establish himself in the Premier League.

Leeds shown interest early in the transfer window, but they are currently giving other transactions priority in their quest for return to the Premier League.

With 27 goals in 44 appearances, Szmodics concluded the previous season as the Championship’s leading goal scorer while Blackburn finished in 19th place.

Sammie Szmodics will not be signing with Leeds United.
Beside the Golden Boot Szmodics had an outstanding season, earning a spot on the Championship Team of the Season.

Since then, he has won a spot on the Republic of Ireland’s senior international team, making his debut in their 0-0 draw with Belgium in March.
