According to David Ornstein, an agreement has been reached by West Ham to acquire attacker Crysenscio Summerville from Leeds United.
On July 31, the writer from Athletic said on X that the Hammers and the Dutch attacker had reached a personal terms agreement for a five-year contract.
After West Ham submitted a bid last week, the onus is now on the two teams to agree on a fee.
“West Ham United reach total agreement with Leeds United to sign Crysencio Summerville,” Ornstein wrote via X. Dutchman has a five-year deal with personal clauses in place. The 22-year-old forward for #LUFC is scheduled to have a medical examination before departing on a preseason tour of the United States with #WHUFC.
Crysencio Summerville was a player Leeds United had very little chance of hanging onto.
Summerville looks to be the next to go after Archie Gray, Glen Kamara, Diego Llorente, Marc Roca, and Charlie Cresswell all left Leeds this summer.
For ambitious players, the pull of playing in the top division of football combined with the possibility of greater exposure and income frequently proves to be too strong to refuse.
Summerville appears eager to advance in his profession, as seen by his choice to reach a personal terms agreement with West Ham.
Leeds supporters are likely saddened by the loss of such a gifted player, but it speaks something about their success that they have drawn attention of this kind.
