Tomas Soucek, a towering midfielder for West Ham United, appears to have undergone a full transformation this season, which is fantastic for us.

Tomas Soucek first moved to the London Stadium on loan from Slavia Prague in January 2020. He then made the transfer permanent for almost £15 million the following summer (Daily Mail).

In his first full season with the Hammers, the 28-year-old had an immediate impact, scoring 10 Premier League goals.

David Moyes’ acquisition of the Czech Republic international for roughly £15 million appeared to be a complete triumph.

However, Soucek’s performance suffered as Moyes moved him to a deeper position to make room for Declan Rice’s new, more advanced role at the beginning of the 2021/22 season.

It was obviously a failed experiment. It not only made us less effective as a team, but it also had a negative effect on Soucek by removing his strengths and highlighting his weaknesses.

He appears to have returned to a more offensive role this season, with Edson Alvarez serving as the back four’s protector.

As a result, the enormous midfielder is finding himself in much better positions, and to be fair to him, his overall play appears to be improving as well. His performance yesterday against Liverpool was proof of the enormous strides.

West Ham star Tomas Soucek has unmistakably made a dramatic change.
Yesterday, the Czech Republic international was omnipresent. He displayed exceptional defensive play, and Alisson Becker’s miraculous stop prevented him from scoring.

The 28-year-old got 43 touches against Liverpool and an excellent pass completion rate of 82.1% from 28 attempts. He made one crucial pass in addition to his three shots on goal (Who Scored).

Against the Reds yesterday, he also made two tackles, three clearances, and three blocks (Who Scored).

I feel that Tomas Soucek is back to his former self, and that can only be positive for West Ham as a team.

In six games across all competitions this season, he has scored just once, but I predict that by the conclusion of the season, he will have at least 10 goals.

This season, he is unquestionably being allowed more leeway to go forward, which is a total U-turn from last year.

The most impressive performance I’ve seen from Big Tomas in the past few months came against Liverpool yesterday. He’s back. I hope he begins scoring consistently once more as
