Last week, A’ja Wilson shattered the WNBA single-season scoring record. After scoring 1,000 points in a season on Sunday, the Aces star became the first player to do so. Now that the playoffs are about to begin, the probable league MVP and her colleagues can concentrate on getting ready for Tuesday night’s game against the Seattle Storm.

“This is when you need to start playing your best basketball because this is the rock ‘n roll time,” Wilson stated. “This time of year is the greatest. Having these victories under our belt feels great.”

The two-time reigning champions (25-13) have won seven of their past eight games and will play the Dallas Wings at home on Thursday to wrap off the regular season. In an 84-71 home victory over the Connecticut Sun on Sunday, Wilson scored 1,000 points. She pulled down nine rebounds in addition to her game-high 29 points.
“There have been wins that we needed to grind out,” Wilson stated. “In order to win some games, we had to grasp the rules of the game, and postseason basketball would be like that. No matter what, we’re going to get everyone’s best shot. These kinds of games are helpful in preparing us for this.” A first-round playoff game between the fifth-seeded Storm (24–14) and the fourth-seeded Aces is most certainly in store. If Las Vegas wins on Tuesday, they will have the home-court edge. Although Seattle has won four straight games, they still need to be more consistent.
