Following last week’s NBA Board of Governors meeting, Commissioner Adam Silver put a stop to the league’s rapid expansion.
“This meeting did not have much discussion about expansion, but that was primarily because we had informed them that we are not yet ready,” Silver stated. “But we have informed our Board that we intend to address it this season, even though we’re not quite ready yet. However, I believe that there is interest in the process and that we haven’t yet reached point where we’ve decided on any particular markets or, to be honest, where to expand.
