Latest Aston Villa news from BirminghamLive as Nicolo Zaniolo expected to complete move to B6
Nicolo Zaniolo is set to officially complete his move to Aston Villa later today (Thursday), it has been claimed.
As revealed by our Villa reporter, John Townley, the Italy international travelled to Birmingham from Turkey earlier this week to finalise the move. He will be joining Villa on a season-long loan from Galatasaray.
Villa identified the 24-year-old as a replacement for Emi Buendia. The Argentine suffered a serious knee injury in training and faces a lengthy period on the sidelines.
He is understood to be undergoing the final and main part of his medical at Villa, claims transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. He adds that documents “will be signed later today,” between all parties.

Zaniolo is set to be reunited with president of football operations, Monchi whom he signed at Roma back in 2018. Speaking about the move, Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk said: “He’s a player who wants to play in the Premier League, we respect that.
“If the interests of our club are going to be met, it seems like this transfer will happen.”
