Recently, Travis Kelce has gained attention because of his well-known romance with singer Taylor Swift. However, a former Super Bowl winner claims that the tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs has recently lost focus, and it’s showing on the field.

Questions have been raised by Kelce’s recent performance with the Chiefs, particularly in light of his public relationship with Swift. Kelce’s stats have been lackluster, with just eight receptions for 69 yards and no touchdowns, despite the Chiefs’ impressive 3-0 start. He only caught four receptions for thirty yards in a recent game against the Atlanta Falcons, which is unusual for a player who has historically averaged over 100 catches and 52 touchdowns per season.

But there’s no reason to worry. Teams are still paying close attention to Kelce on defense because they recognize his skill. While they’re calling plays for Kelce, Patrick Mahomes saw that opposition teams frequently double-team him, creating possibilities for other players like Rashee Rice. With 77% of the offensive snaps, Kelce continued to play a significant role, demonstrating his worth beyond receiving statistics.

Kelce has a history of difficult starts. The previous season, he missed the opening kick and had trouble scoring touchdowns, but he bounced back with multiple outstanding performances in the postseason.

Reactions to Kelce’s on-field play have been plentiful recently among observers and supporters. According to a story by Andrew Holleran for The Spun, former Super Bowl champion Rodney Harrison is one of those who has voiced their thoughts.

Super Bowl champion Rodney Harrison (who currently works as a commentator for NBC) feels that Kelce is not totally focused on football. Harrison won the Super Bowl with the Patriots.

“He’s busy; he has a lot on his plate,” Harrison explained. “If you think about it, he’s doing a lot of different things in the media, he’s playing football, and he has other things going on. There’s a lot going on. But when you’re in that scenario, you have to put everything else aside and concentrate solely on football, which is your primary responsibility.

“Guys making plays on him, you see Jessie Bates did an excellent job against him tonight. He just isn’t as fast. He’s still a good player. I don’t think he’s a particularly terrific player.

Mahomes, for his part, voiced trust in Kelce, pointing out that opposition defenders hold him in high regard. He acknowledged the difficulties the TE is having with double coverage, but assured fans that they are still actively devising plays for him.

As the Chiefs’ passing game evolves, Kelce’s services as a blocker and decoy will remain critical to their success. With the addition of fresh weapons to the offense, it’s likely that the tight end will find his groove, cementing his importance to the squad as they strive for another title.
