In the face of Carlisle United, John Mousinho has absolved wasteful Pompey of all responsibility despite their several missed opportunities.

The Blues manager, however, found comfort in the fact that his team overcame the Cumbrians at Fratton Park even if they were far from their best. In the end, Mousinho’s team won 1-0 after missing numerous first-half opportunities to score, finishing with 13 shots on goal. Mousinho went on, “We say we keep finding a way, but this game and the Wycombe game are total opposites.”

I was rather happy with how well we seemed to manage the Wycombe game from beginning to end. Though it was entirely different this time, we still definitely earned that. We managed to find a solution, but we didn’t play very well. That was, I believe, the first time we had done that this season. “I believe we accomplished that, and when the dust settles, I’ll be really happy about it.” We won’t have any spark for 46 games. There will be days like these, but hopefully we are for most of them. If you manage to prevail, that’s a
