Peter Withe is one of the most iconic figures in Aston Villa’s history, forever remembered for his heroic role in the club’s 1982 European Cup triumph.

Born on 30 August 1951 in Liverpool, Withe built a strong reputation as a powerful and intelligent striker. He played for several clubs during his career, but it was at Aston Villa where he made his biggest impact.

In that historic match, Withe scored the only goal of the game, helping Aston Villa secure a 1–0 victory and lift their first-ever European Cup. After his time at Aston Villa, Withe continued his career in football and later moved into coaching. He went on to manage teams in different parts of the world, including in Asia, where he gained experience as a head coach.
