West Virginia football lost two more players via the transfer portal: a highly regarded Class of 2024 recruit who utilized his redshirt this past season and a key offensive starter.
Hudson Clement, a redshirt sophomore wide receiver with two years left to play, is the offensive starter. Former walk-on Clement became the top target for WVU this season after a standout 2023 performance earned him a scholarship. He finished as the team leader in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns with 51 catches for 741 yards and five scores. Schyler Callihan of West Virginia on SI announced late Thursday that EDGE Obinna Onwuka would hit the portal, and a WVU defense who redshirted as a freshman this past season also did so. With four years of eligibility left, Onwuka received several Power 4 offers, including from Virginia Tech and Penn State, two rivals of WVU. Onwuka did, however, add that he is amenable to maybe rejoining the program.
