Paul Mullin is qualified to play for Rob Page’s team in November’s Euro 2024 qualifiers. He has scored 78 goals in 99 games for Wrexham, making him eligible to represent Wales.
Paul Mullin says he’d be honored to represent Wales in football and feels he’s already shown he’s good enough for the national team.
Since joining the Hollywood-backed Wrexham two years ago, Mullin’s profile has exploded, and he still has hope of playing for Wales. The 28-year-old has scored an impressive 78 goals in 99 games for Wrexham so far, demonstrating his incredible prolificacy.
After a 15-year hiatus, his goals propelled Wrexham back into the Football League in April. He is now back in League Two, having scored 32 goals for Cambridge United in 2020–21. With Brennan Johnson and Tom Bradshaw sidelined due to injury, Wales manager Rob Page acknowledged earlier this month that Mullin was a candidate for the squad to play Croatia in a Euro 2024 qualifier.
Mullin has also expressed his desire to play for his adopted nation, which will play Turkey and Armenia in crucial Euro 2024 qualifying matches next month. “The mother of my father was Welsh; she was raised in Newport and was born there, among other things. He said to Kammy & Ben’s, “It’s obviously something I’d love to do, it would be a dream come true.”

After a few recent scouting trips, Mullin was placed on “standby” for the match against Croatia on October 15, according to Page, and he might be given another chance. Following his recovery from broken ribs and a punctured lung sustained in a friendly collision with Manchester United goalkeeper Nathan Bishop during Wrexham’s preseason tour of the United States, the Liverpool-born striker has netted four goals in nine League Two appearances this season.
“I know that as an international manager you have players who are registered for the country who play at a higher level,” Mullin continued. People say things like, “I could play higher, but I chose not to,” so I can’t really be upset that I wasn’t picked because of my skill level even though I came to play here.
“Even for me, I don’t think there should be an issue. I believe the interviewer said, “We’d look at calling him up if he scored goals in League Two,” but I’ve already broken the record for most goals scored in a League Two season.
