Arsene Wenger, the former manager of Arsenal, has acknowledged that he believes Tottenham is one of four teams that could win the Premier League.

Tottenham leads the Premier League.

Wenger thinks they can take the crown.

praises Maddison’s signing and Van de Ven

AHEAD OF TIME? Tottenham finished eighth in the Premier League the previous season after losing star striker Harry Kane, but they are already winning this year thanks to Ange Postecoglou’s attacking football philosophy. Particularly intriguing additions have been James Maddison and Micky van de Ven, and the well-known former manager of Arsenal thinks Tottenham will be a contender come playoff time.

WHAT THEY SAID: “If I said after 10 games [they’d be] top of the league…,” Wenger stated on beIN Sports. It’s not a difficult question to ask, as I always like to express my true feelings, and I think Tottenham will be a contender for the league. The team gained some technical inventiveness and a great player in Maddison, who serves as a link from low to high midfield.I think Van de Ven is great, and they bought him. He really stands out in my opinion.

“They had weaknesses in that area [the back], and Hugo Lloris didn’t have the best season last year either. Additionally, the transition from Son into the middle appears excellent overall.”

Wenger said, “For the Premier League,” in response to a question about whether he believed Tottenham were real title contenders. Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, and City, of course, will always return, in my opinion. They resemble the four players who will currently compete for the Premier League.

THE BIGGER PICTURE: With 26 points from 11 games, Tottenham is currently leading the table, two points ahead of Arsenal. They trail only Manchester City and Newcastle United in goals scored with 22 this season.

Next what? In an attempt to maintain their lead, Spurs will play again on Monday, November 6, against Chelsea, their London rivals.
