Leicester City are still awaiting their first transfer of the season as the window begins to reach the halfway point.
Woyo Coulibaly is reportedly close to joining the Foxes despite Ruud van Nistelrooy remaining coy when asked about Coulibaly.
Other than that, it’s been a lot of links and not much more when it comes to players coming and going.
Hamza Choudhury has been linked to Sheffield United and Caleb Okoli could also depart after less than a year at the Foxes.
But one star is gaining a lot of interest from clubs in England and could be on his way out of Leicester permanently.
Tom Cannon wanted by four clubs as Leicester City ponder permanent move
Tom Cannon has been one of the star players in the Championship for Stoke City this season.
Cannon is Stoke’s top scorer and was on the scoresheet for their FA Cup win away at Sunderland on Saturday.
There has been talk of Leicester cashing in on Cannon to fund transfers elsewhere and according to Alan Nixon, there is the possibility of that happening.
Nixon has claimed that Sunderland, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday and Luton Town have all registered an interest in signing the Republic of Ireland international permanently.
The 22-year-old has 11 goals in all competitions and the Foxes are reportedly willing to sell him for the right price if a club comes in.
He joined Leicester for £7.5m in 2023.
How much could Leicester sell Tom Cannon for?
Form plays a huge factor when it comes to the asking price of players and luckily for Leicester, Cannon’s form is red hot.
The forward is also attracting plenty of attention, which could mean an extra few pound notes are added to the price tag.
Theoretically, Leicester will want to make a profit on the £7.5m they paid to sign the forward and given his form, potential and competition for his signature, the Foxes could easily demand in the region of £15m.
This would represent great business from Leicester who have failed to get the best out of Cannon and could be the best move for all parties.
