Nottingham Forest will strive to sign a few players during the January transfer window, but this month’s priorities will be more important.

Kang-in Lee, a standout for PSG, has been linked to Forest. The South Korean international is the most recent forward to be linked to a move to the City Ground, and the team is considering that section of the field.

It’s never easy to sign a forward during the midseason transfer window. Many players decide to stay put during the January transfer window, and Mathys Tel has already turned down Forest.

The amount of players whose contracts expire in the summer when the season comes to an end, however, may be a greater source of worry at the moment.

Negotiations are underway for Ola Aina to sign a new Forest deal. Murillo is negotiating elsewhere as well, but there is a little more time to attempt to get him to sign a lengthier term.

In the contract negotiations for Chris Wood, Nottingham Forest makes progress.
The Reds don’t want to be the team that allows its best players to sign free agents. In light of that, this seems like very significant news involving the prolific striker Wood.

The Mirror claims that after a breakthrough between the parties, Forest is now very close to signing Wood to a new contract. The 33-year-old now seems content with the terms being given.

At first, there was a problem with the deal’s duration. Wood and his representatives naturally pushed to secure his future for two years, but Forest only offered a one-year deal.

It appears that those problems have now been resolved somewhat swiftly. It appears that the only thing left to do is make an official statement, which should happen very soon.

Wood has been a fantastic addition to Forest.
This was one signing that Steve Cooper did get right. Cooper was the driving force behind Wood’s move from Newcastle, and despite early skepticism, he has proven to be a valuable asset for £15 million.

It’s clear now why Eddie Howe didn’t want to lose Wood. In addition to being a goal scorer, he also contributes to Forest’s leadership group and is a good player in the locker room.

Last season, Wood scored 14 goals for the Reds. People who believed that was just a purple patch were mistaken. Wood scored 12 goals this season, making him the club’s all-time top scorer in the Premier League era.

From a Forest point of view, this contract news is good. Keeping Wood will make the transition considerably easier, even though a new striker will still be sought in the summer.
