Due to roster changes, San Francisco is willing to trade both of its best wide outs.

According to reports, the San Francisco 49ers are considering selling Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel in an effort to restructure their roster for the future.

Aiyuk may also be on the move, according to a recent rumor, even though Samuel had previously asked for a trade at the end of the season.

San Francisco’s uncertain future for Aiyuk

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network stated that the 49ers are considering offers for Aiyuk, which raises concerns about the team’s long-term wide receiver intentions. With 1,342 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 2023, Aiyuk had a spectacular season. He received a four-year, $120 million deal for his outstanding play, but an ACL tear in Week 7 ended his 2024 career.

Aiyuk was briefly kept out of training camp before to signing his agreement, and his early-season troubles were apparent as he lost five passes in the first seven weeks of the season. Teams from all across the league may be interested in signing the gifted 26-year-old playmaker despite his ailment.

Deebo Samuel’s trade request

At the NFL Combine, general manager John Lynch affirmed that the team is prepared to comply with Samuel’s trade request. Lynch recognized that he could have to say goodbye to the 29-year-old, despite praising Samuel’s influence and playmaking skills.

According to Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos are also interested in Samuel, along with the Houston Texans and Washington Commanders.

The 49ers’ offensive outlook

San Francisco’s passing game may rely significantly on tight end George Kittle and wide receiver Jauan Jennings, who recorded a career-high 975 receiving yards in 2024, if both Samuel and Aiyuk go. The 49ers have the chance to replenish their receiving room since they have seven choices in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Since being selected in the 2019 NFL Draft, Samuel, who is renowned for his versatility, has amassed 5,935 scrimmage yards and 42 touchdowns. He only averaged a career-low 44.7 receiving yards per game in 2024, though, as his output declined.

In 2025, the 49ers’ offense may look considerably different since both Aiyuk and Samuel might be traded. Fans are excited to see what San Francisco will do next since the team’s openness to consider trade proposals indicates a move toward a younger squad.
