After being sent off in the FA Cup on Saturday, Wolves’ star Matheus Cunha may miss the team’s crucial match against Ipswich Town next month.

After a scuffle with Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez in the last minute of extra time, the 25-year-old Brazilian was sent off.

Cunha, who has scored 15 goals this season across all competitions, hit Kerkez three times, including with headbutts and aimed kicks.

Cunha, who had given Wolves the game’s equalizer, had to be escorted and shoved down the tunnel after being sent off.

The FA has now accused him of improper behavior and given him until Monday to reply.
Cunha will already miss the next three games due to his red card. He has scored five goals in his previous six games as Wolves has increased their advantage over Town in the Premier League relegation battle.

He will therefore miss Wolves’ games against West Ham (H), Southampton (A), and Everton (H).

However, he would also miss the crucial, possibly season-defining trip to Portman Road on April 5 if his ban is prolonged due to the charge.

After the Blues’ 2-1 victory over Wolves in December, Cunha elbowed a member of the Town security crew and took his spectacles, earning him a two-game suspension and an £80,000 fine.
