The international break is almost over, which means the Premier League can get ready to resume.

On Sunday afternoon, Aston Villa will return to action against Tottenham Hotspur in what could prove to be a pivotal match. When every player returns from their international assignment, preparations will get underway, and Unai Emery will be crossing his fingers that every player does so in good health.

Just one point separates Villa from Sunday’s opponents in fourth place in the Premier League as of right now. The position is held in spite of a few season-long injury concerns.

Emery will be hoping that his team’s history of injuries is now in the past. Here’s a peek at the most recent news from the treatment room in light of that.

Mings Tyrone
During the season’s opening weekend away to Newcastle United, Mings sustained a permanent knee injury. Since then, he’s made his first post on social media, saying thanks to everyone for their support while he recovers.

Date of potential return: unknown

Ramsey Jacob
In September, following his recuperation from a fractured metatarsal that required ten weeks of bed rest, Ramsey experienced another foot ailment. After recovering from an injury sustained in the loss to Legia Warsaw last month, he started the games against Chelsea and Brighton off the bench. After the November international break, he might play for Tottenham. Prior to the team’s match against Fulham, Emery provided an update, stating that the 22-year-old is almost ready to resume full training at Bodymoor Heath.

Return date possibility: November 26 – Tottenham (A)

McGinn John
Following his hobbling off during Sunday night’s 3-3 draw between Scotland and Norway at Hampden Park, the midfield player is a potential injury concern. He finished the game with a goal and an assist before getting hurt.

Ten minutes remained in the game when he was substituted out, but there was no post-match communication. Hopefully, Unai Emery’s withdrawal was a precaution.

November 26 – Tottenham (A) is a potential return date.

Carlos Diego
The 3-1 victory over Fulham prior to the international break was lost by the center-back. Maybe he’ll be back for the match against Tottenham.

November 26 – Tottenham (A) is a potential return date.
